Myron D. “Mike” Fletcher, age 78, of Waupaca, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019.
He was born in Waupaca on December 18, 1940, a son of the late Myron and Ethel (Boutwell) Fletcher. Mike married Carol Arndt on August 6, 1960 at First United Methodist Church in Waupaca. Mike graduated from Waupaca High School in 1960. He worked at Waupaca Foundry, then took over Fletcher’s Jewelry in 1968. Mike was one of Waupaca’s first EMTs for Holly Ambulance Service. He then joined the Waupaca Fire Department in 1971 where he eventually became an Assistant Chief, he retired from the Department in 2002 as a Lifetime Member. Mike loved the outdoors, water skiing, canoeing, snowmobiling, fishing in Canada, mowing the yards, turkey and deer hunting and riding four wheelers. He loved socializing and talking to people. Mike was a lifelong Methodist.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Carol Fletcher, Waupaca, WI; son, Jeff (Pat) Fletcher, Waupaca, WI; daughter, Lisa (Fred) Walsh-Berger, Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren: Leah Fletcher, Jessica (Zach) Hauser, MaKenna Berger, LaKendra Berger, AuBrianna Berger; brothers, Gary Fletcher, Clintonville, WI; Dale (Philomena) Fletcher, Marshfield, WI; sisters, Donzella (Herman) Anderson-Wright, Waupaca, WI; Leah Baehman, Appleton, WI; brother-in-law, Clayton Suhs. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral Services will be held at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2019 with Reverend Jeffrey S. Fletcher and Reverend Barry Shaw officiating. Interment will be held at Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Holly Funeral Home and on Friday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name.
