Donna M. Frei (nee Gorges), age 78, passed away on March 1, 2019, after a lengthy undiagnosed illness, in Apache Junction, Arizona, which had been her home for the past 25 plus years.
She was born April 21, 1940 in New London (Readfield), WI, to the late Casey and Nila Gorges. Donna was a member of the American Legion for 25 plus years, where she enjoyed playing “slingo” every Saturday. Everyone knew how much she loved her “babies” (her three dogs), as she never hesitated to pull out pictures of them when engaging in conversation with anyone (oftentimes strangers). First on her agenda when coming back to Wisconsin for visits was a fish fry and an “old fashion”. Donna attended her 60th New London class reunion last August, where she loved seeing past classmates and joking about some of their antics when they were very young.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Dawn Krueger, Appleton; son, Steven (Cindy) Greselin of Middleburg, Fl.; her brothers, LeRoy (Bonnie) Gorges, and Gary (Cheryl) Gorges. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Joshua (Tina) Krueger, Brent (Karsen) Krueger, Trever (Tonya) Krueger, Krista Krueger, and Madison Greselin, as well as five great-grandchildren. She was further preceded in death by her grandson, Brandon Krueger.
There will be a private burial service on August 3, at the Readfield Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Valley Funeral Home in care of Donna Frei.
