Wied, David James

David James Wied, age 64, of Clintonville, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019 in Neenah.

David was born on November 3, 1954, in Clintonville, son of the late Willard and Mabel (DeYoung) Wied. He was raised in Clintonville and graduated from Clintonville High School in 1973. Upon graduation David proudly served in the United States Navy. After his military service he returned to Clintonville and worked at several jobs throughout his life including house painting with his Uncle Llewellyn Wied, VP&J Construction Co., and lastly at Walker Forge Inc. until his passing. On January 1, 2000, the start of the new millennium, David began a married life with Dawn Loveland. The ceremony took place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Leopolis, of which they were both members. Dave enjoyed watching Brewer and Packer games and was a dedicated fan of the Shawano Speedway’s Saturday night races for many years. He had a passion for working on cars, an interest in history, and especially loved spending time with his grandsons.

David is survived by: his wife of 19 years, Dawn; children, Amie (Jerry Jorgenson) Kendl of Clintonville and Andrew (Jessica Norder) Pfister of Pella; grandchildren, Desmond, Logen, Eli, and Noah Kendl, Blake Stumpf, and Trayton Norder; his siblings, Judy (Don) Johnson, Sandy (Mike) Loberg, Rusty Wied, and Dennis (Cathy) Wied all of Clintonville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dwight and Angie Loveland, Terry Loveland, Kay Harris, Gail Loveland, Debbie Loveland, Mark and Diane Loveland, Len and Gail Heling; close friend and Dawn’s aunt, Arlene “Pat” Blashe; he is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Willard and Mabel; siblings, Gary Wied and JoAnn Heling; sisters-in-law, Marie Wied and Pam Loveland; and a brother-in-law, Frank Harris. Also preceded in death by a special dog Ginger.

A funeral service is being held for David on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Leopolis. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a wake service to be held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the procession leaves for the church. www.swedbergfuneralhome.com
