Iola-Scandinavia suffers Homecoming loss

The Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds lost 16-13 to the Shiocton Chiefs during a Central Wisconsin Conference game on Friday, Oct. 11, in Scandinavia.
The first score of the game did not come until late in the second quarter when Cade Stingle scored on a 3-yard run for Shiocton. With a failed kick, the Chiefs were up 6-0.
Stingle continued the scoring drive into the third quarter on a 62-yard run. The extra point was good and Shiocton took a 13-0 lead in the game.
Iola-Scandinavia quarterback Parker Prahl finally got the T-Birds on the board midway through the third quarter on a 2-yard run.
The T-Birds attempted to kick the extra point, but came up short bringing the score to 13-6.
The final score in the third quarter came when Logan Heindl kicked a 21-yard field goal to put Shiocton up 16-6.
Iola-Scandinavia continued to battle during the fourth quarter, scoring once on a 6-yard pass from Prahl to Will Cady. But it was not enough and Shiocton took the win.
The T-Birds had 217 yards in the air and 59 on the ground.
Prahl completed 18 of 38 passes for 217 yards and also carried the ball 15 times for 37 yards.
Cady led in receiving, bringing down 11 passes for 138 yards.
Shiocton had 212 yards on the ground and zero in the air.
Stingle carried the ball 28 times for 162 yards.
Iola-Scandinavia will take on the Amherst Falcons at home on Oct. 18.
