Comets knock off Antigo

Waupaca outshoots Red Robins 24-2

Five second-half goals led to a 5-1 win for the Waupaca boys’ soccer team.

The Comets trailed Antigo 1-0 at halftime Oct. 14, but outscored the Red Robins 5-0 in the second half.

Antigo’s Caden Cooper scored the game’s only goal in the first half.

Juan Bautista tied the game six minutes into the second half with an unassisted goal and the Comets took the lead for good in the 65-minute mark after Bryce Boldt scored on an assist from Bautista.

Boldt added an unassisted goal in the 81-minute mark and Zachary Wanty’s unassisted goal a minute later gave Waupaca a 4-1 lead.

Johnathen Mohr wrapped up the scoring with an unassisted goal with less than two minutes remaining in the game.

Waupaca outshot the Red Robins 24-2 and held the visitors to no shots on goal in the second half.

The Comets wrapped up the regular season Oct. 15 with a home game against Fox Valley Lutheran.
