Holiday Shop at Library

Fundraiser planned in Fremont

The Holiday Shop at the Library will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Fremont’s village hall.

The annual fundraiser will include gift baskets, a silent auction, raffles, vendor booths and food.

“It all benefits the library,” said Library Director Natalie Snyder.

There will be 200 themed baskets for sale at various price points, she said.

“There’s something for everyone,” Snyder said.

The silent auction items go to the highest bidders.

Among the approximately 30 silent auction items are Green Bay Packers tickets and parking to the Dec. 8 game, golf baskets, space-themed baskets, passes to the Barlow Planetarium, a two-night stay at Jellystone Camp Resort, hotel stays, a full-day rental of a pontoon or waverunner and a bird basket.

Snyder said what makes this year different is that they added more raffle items.

This year, there are about 30 raffle items.

There are items for people of all ages, including a $100 Visa gift card, Dungeon and Dragons, dolls, beer and wine, Packers’ items, puzzles, golf baskets, a toolbox and a Christmas tree dress made by Sue Mathison.

Tickets are available at $1 for one, $5 for six or $20 for 30.

People may purchase raffle tickets in advance at the library.

They will also be available the day of the event.

The names will be drawn after the event ends at 3 p.m., Snyder said.

“All of these items are donated by local businesses and local residents,” she said.

Volunteers organize and run the fundraiser.

All the money raised goes to Friends of the Library and the library.

The funds will go toward expanding programming across all the ages and also updating technology and increasing accessibility for all ages, Snyder said.

She said there also be about 20 vendors at the event, selling everything from jewelry to alpaca items and stained glass.

Breakfast will be served at 8 a.m for those who want to arrive early and eat while they wait in line for the event to open.

Lunch will start at 11 a.m. and include an $8 chicken dinner.

Barbecue will also be available.

A bake sale will also take place.
