‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood’ showing in Waupaca
Trinity Lutheran Church will show “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 1.
The film stars Tom Hanks as Mister Rogers.
It is based on Fred Rogers’ real-life relationship with a magazine writer.
“This is a film that leaves you feeling uplifted,” said Andy Behrendt, pastor at Trinity. “Mr. Rogers hosted a children’s television show, but the kindness and compassion he modeled was no act and it certainly wasn’t just for children.”
The film is rated PG and is appropriate for teens.
Babysitting and kindness-themed activities for children will be provided.
A brief discussion will follow the film, and the event will conclude by 4 p.m.
There will be a free-will offering, with funds used to pay down medical debt for low-income people in the area.
Trinity is located at 206 E. Badger St. in Waupaca.
