Ruth Schimke, 83, of Waterford, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at her home.
Born in Hazel Green, Wisconsin on February 7, 1937, she was the daughter of Guerdon and Esther (nee Lightcap) Browning. Her early years were spent in Platteville, where she graduated from Platteville High School. She also attended college at UW-Platteville and Viterbo College in LaCrosse. In 1958, she was united in marriage to John Schimke. Following marriage, they resided in Neenah and Menasha before moving to Milwaukee and Honey Creek. Her and her husband eventually retired to Lublin, Wisconsin. John preceded her in death on January 21, 2010.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Alzheimers Association.
A visitation for Ruth will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2020 from noon until 4 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 S. Browns Lake Drive, Burlington, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin, Wisconsin with Rev. Vijay Madani officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family before the time of service from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. at the church.
