Priebe, Betty Jean

Betty Jean Priebe, age 83, New London, passed away peacefully at her home at Parkview Place Apartments, on Thursday, March 19, 2020.

She was born on June 20, 1936 in the Town of Maple Creek, daughter of the late Arthur and (Grace) Affeldt. Betty lived in the New London area all of her life and was a member of the Most Precious Blood Church. She was united in marriage to Leo Young in 1956; after Leo’s death, Betty married Victor Priebe on September 23, 1984. God called Victor home after a short six years of marriage. She worked at various jobs in her life: Flanagan’s Kraut Factory, Hillshire Farms, Hortonville Toy Factory, and Service Master; retiring in 2004. Betty volunteered at St. Joseph Residence in New London for many years. She enjoyed cake decorating, crafts, working with hair, jigsaw puzzles, and fast walking.

Betty is survived by her siblings, Dennis (Anne) Schneider and Joyce Schneider and sister-in-law, Doris Schneider. She is further survived by numerous, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, siblings: Kathy Schneider, David Schneider, Ronald Schneider, Leon Schneider and Robert (Ruby) Schneider; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pearl (Bill) Myers and Norman (Gladys) Priebe.

Due to the current ban on statewide gatherings, Betty’s mortal remains will be blessed by Fr. John Kleinschmidt and laid to rest in a private burial at Most Precious Blood Cemetery in New London.
