Food distribution set for March 26
A Ruby’s Pop-Up Pantry food distribution will take place from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at Waupaca’s Swan Park.
The park is located at 909 Brainerd Drive.
This food distribution is for anyone who needs assistance with food.
There are no requirements and no preregistration.
The pop-up pantry will be held as a drive-thru distribution, so people are asked to have their $20 share donation (cash only) ready for the volunteer.
People are also asked to bring boxes or totes and have them in their vehicles.
They will stay in their vehicle and receive 70 pounds of food, which will be loaded for them to minimize interaction due to the COVID-19 pandemic and allow volunteers to practice social distancing.
It will be the second Ruby’s Pop-Up Pantry in the community within the week.
This one is a partnership between Ruby’s Pantry and Trinity Lutheran Church.
The food distribution was originally scheduled to take place at Trinity.
The police department had concerns about traffic impacts in the downtown area and requested it be moved to Swan Park.
A Ruby’s Pantry food distribution also took place Saturday, March 21, at Waupaca Christian Church.
