Pingel back in jail

Suspect accused of threatening officer

Taylor P. Pingel, 24, Clintonville, is charged with threatening a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct and three counts of felony bail jumping.

On March 24, Clintonville Police officers Anthony Arrieta and Tyler Bartel responded to the Clintonville Motel for a disturbance complaint.

As they approached Pingel’s room, they could hear a man yelling at another man about giving him his cigarettes.
Pingel’s father answered the door.

Taylor Pingel, who is not allowed to have contact with his father, continued yelling about his cigarettes.

The officers asked Pingel to step outside and speak to them about his living arrangements and the situation.

According to the criminal complaint, Pingel started yelling profanities at the officers.

They told Pingel he was under arrest.

While Arrieta tried to handcuff him, Pingel reportedly resisted and struggled to keep his hands away.

Pingel told the officers he was not going with them until he first smoked a cigarette.

Standing on either side of Pingel, the officers escorted him down the stairs.

He allegedly began kicking as the officers tried to place him in the back of the squad car.

Pingel told Arrieta he was going to be assassinated, the complaint says.

Once inside the squad car, Pingel kicked out the rear window.

Police Chief Craig Freitag arrived at the scene, the officers pulled Pingel from the car and escorted him to the ground.

Officers placed Pingel into the K-9 unit squad car because it has window protection.

Waupaca County has three pending felony cases against Pingel.

On Dec. 9, 2019, prosecutors charged Pingel with second-degree reckless endangerment, felony strangulation, battery and disorderly conduct as acts of domestic abuse. He was released from custody after posting a $750 cash bond.

On Jan. 21, Pingel was charged with felony bail jumping, then released after posting a $1,000 cash bond.

On March 2, Pingel was charged with criminal trespass, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct and two counts of felony bail jumping. He was released after posting a $2,500 cash bond.

Judge Vicki Clussman set a $5,000 cash bond as a condition of his release after his most recent arrest.

Clussman has also begun proceedings for forfeiting his bonds.
