New London moves polling sites

New space needed due to pandemic

City Clerk Jackie Beyer announced changes in New London’s polling places for the April 7 election due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Due to the lack of adequate staff at all of the polling places, we are combining some polling places to serve the public,” Beyer said in a press release. “We apologize for the late change, but we are taking steps to notify everyone by use of social media and news outlets of the new locations.

Polling sites

• District 1, Wards 9 and 10 – Normally at the UCC Congregational Church, moved to the American Legion, 840 E. North Water St.

• District 2, Wards 6 and 7 – Normally at the Washington Center, moved to Trinity Lutheran Church, 709 W. Beckert Road.

• District 5 – Municipal Building, 215 N. Shawano St., will remain the same.

Polling places will be open from 7 am until 8 pm on April 7, 2020.

Voters can also drop off completed absentee ballots at polling places or at the Municipal Building and are encouraged to use the Utility Payment drop box after hours or on the weekend.

Citizens must sign the voters’ certification and have a witness sign and address, to avoid issues.
