Phelps, Todd Williams Jr.

Todd Williams Phelps Jr, age 35, of Amherst, earned his angel wings on April 1, 2020.

Todd was born in Waupaca on January 1, 1985. He is the son of Theresa and Gary Williams and the late Todd W. Phelps Sr. Todd lived in Waupaca until the age of 12, and then he and his family moved to Almond, WI. Todd graduated from Almond Bancroft School with the class of 2003. He then entered the Army and served in Iraq Freedom and was honorably discharged in 2005. Todd worked at the Waupaca Foundry for four years and shortly after he was medically retired from the US Army. Todd was a gentle giant, with a heart as big as the sky. He loved, loved to laugh and make jokes, you could never be sad when you were around him. Todd had a knack for helping people struggling with addictions. He fought his own demons and knew how it felt. Todd became a Recovery Coach so he could “spread the word” as he would say. He touched the lives of many. Todd loved music with a passion, Waylon Jennings was his favorite. He loved to draw and paint and create art. The outdoors and sunshine was a place he found peace. Todd used to deer and turkey hunt with his dad and really enjoyed the time spent together. He along with his mom planted tons of flowers for the bees. Todd used to say the flowers made his eyes happy.

Todd is survived by his parents, grandpa, Al Groholski; grandma, Grace Phelps; a very special aunt and godmother, Barb Johnson; a very special cousin, whom Todd considered a brother, Al Smith. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his cat, Shmuel and his goat, Millie.

Sweet boy, our hearts are shattered and the thought of you not being with us is unimaginable. I know you are free now, so fly high Toddy, until we meet again. Love you bye, Mom and Dad.

A family gathering will be held at a later date this summer. A memorial has been established. Any cards may be sent to Theresa Williams, 8401 4th Ave, Almond, WI 54909. The Maple Crest Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
