Seniors making history

The Weyauwega-Fremont School District is celebrating this year’s senior class in a variety of ways.

Senior Nights Lights took place on the high school grounds on April 17.

Images and messages of support were on display for the Class of 2020.

There are also signs at the homes of this year’s seniors.

Jodi Alix said the signs were made and delivered early in the state’s Safer at Home order.

She is the principal of W-F’s middle and high schools.

“Elisha Barnett suggested to me that we should get some type of sign to honor our seniors,” Alix told the Waupaca County Post.

RH Liquidators made the signs, and Alix delivered all of them on Saturday, April 11.

“It took me more than six hours to travel to everyone’s house to deliver, but it was very satisfying thinking I was going to surprise people on Easter morning,” she said.

Alix said the students were excited to see they were thought of and appreciative of the delivery.

“We continue to brainstorm to think of unique ideas to celebrate our seniors,” she said.

The annual Senior Awards Night took place virtually on Wednesday, May 13.
