He was born on May 16, 1936 in the village of Rural, just south of Waupaca; the son of Chris H. Schroeder and Dorothy M. (Von Gunten). Tim graduated from Waupaca High School in 1953. He loved all sports, excelled in track, and was proud of the longstanding record he set in the pole vault at the Central Wisconsin Championship in Stevens Point on May 16, 1952. Throughout this sports career, which spanned 64 years, he pitched in tournaments in Wisconsin, Montana, and Canada. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan starting with radio broadcasts in the 1940s. Tim was united in marriage to Janis Bishop on December 2, 1961. He was a well-liked bartender in Waupaca, having been at Simpson’s for 15 years. He worked as club manager at the Kalispell, Montana Elks Club for many years. Returning to Waupaca with his family in 1989, he owned the Ballpark Sports Bar and softball field. He was a sportsman who spent many years hunting and fishing. Since retirement, he loved golfing, bowling, and his daily coffee group at JR’s. He was very proud of the accomplishments of his grandchildren and took special delight in watching each of them play in their chosen sports.

Tim is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Janis (Bishop) Schroeder; three sons, Kris (Shari) Kaiser, Ada, MI; Timothy (Tamie) Schroeder, Kalispell, MT; Samuel (Mary) Schroeder, Stevens Point, WI; one daughter, Sara (Scott) Olsen, Waupaca; eight grandchildren: Quincy (Nathan) Rick, Sydney (Kris) Miller, Colton Schroeder, Skye Olsen, Shane Olsen, Nicole Schroeder, Sophie Schroeder, Ella Schroeder, and four great-grandchildren.
