New London welcomes new staff

12 teachers, counselors, administrators join school district

Twelve new teachers, administrators and counselors have joined the New London School District for the 2020-21 academic year.

Josh Murnane

Murnane joins the district as associate principal of the New London Intermediate Middle School with a bachelor’s degree in education and master’s in educational leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Murname taught Social Studies at St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy, Green Bay West High School and Horace Mann Middle School and served as associate principal and athletic director at Green Bay West and Neenah High Schools.

His hometown is East Troy Wisconsin.

“I have a strong passion to work with students to help them learn, challenge themselves and head out into the world as confident individuals,” said Murname.

He is looking forward to having fun, working hard and enjoying the journey.

Michelle (Shelly) Anderson

Anderson joins the district as a speech language pathologist at Readfield Elementary School. She has earned her bachelor’s degree in education and master’s in communicative disorders at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Anderson has served as a speech pathologists at the Monroe Clinic, as an audiologist at Otolaryngology Ltd., as well as speech pathologist for the Appleton Area School District. Anderson has owned a private practice business specializing in speech pathology.

“I love nurturing and educating kids for the betterment of future generations,” said Anderson.

She’s looking forward to helping her students improve skills and enhance learning while building relationships with students, families and staff.

Jordan Krause

Krause joins the district as a ESL (English as a second language) teacher at New London Middle/Intermediate School and New London High School.

The Fremont native earned her degree at Edgewood College in Madison.

She has served with the YMCA Adventure Camp and looks forward to his first teaching job close to home in New London.

“I became a teacher so I could help my students succeed in life just like my teachers helped me,” said Krause.

She looks forward to becoming more involved with the school district and making sure her students feel comfortable and safe while they are at school.

Making a difference in student’s lives is a top goal for her first and every school year.

Bailee Hardy

Hardy joins the district as a physical education teacher at Readfield and Parkview Elementary Schools.

The Lake Villa, Illinois native says she’s always had a great relationship with youth and physical fitness. She attended UW-Oshkosh with an interest in nursing and teaching.

She taught gymnastics at the Ultimate Gymnastics in Illinois and worked for UW- Oshkosh in the recreation and wellness center.
“I could not be happier to be doing what I love,” Hardy said.

She looks forward to watching students building relationships with their peers and teachers, and watching them achieve their personal bests.

Matt Sullivan

Sullivan joins the district as a school psychologist at Parkview and Readfield Elementary Schools.

A native of Waupaca, Sullivan earned his undergraduate degrees in psychology and sociology at UW-Milwaukee and his master’s in education psychology at UW-Stout.

He as 27 years experience working as a school psychologist.

“I love working with and helping kids and their families,” said Sullivan.

He looks forward to becoming a valuable resource for families, their children and fellow staff of the New London School District.

Luke Mueller

Mueller joins the district as a physical education teacher at Lincoln Elementary and Sugar Bush Elementary Schools.

Mueller is a native of Oregon, Wisconsin and graduated from Ripon College with his teaching degree. He worked at Fox Prairie Elementary School in Stoughton.

“I enjoy working with kids and I like to help people progress with their goals,” said Mueller.

He’s looking forward to building good relationships with staff and students, implementing some of his own ideas into the gym, and having an enjoyable school year.

Megan Bergel

Bergel joins the district as a social studies and world history teacher at New London High School.

The Appleton native earned her bachelor’s degree in broad field social science from UW-Stevens Point.

“I wanted to become a teacher because I wanted to see the students’ ‘A-ha’ moments when they learn something new – making connections with the real world,” said Bergel.

“My goals are for everyone to stay healthy and to make a positive impact on my students and the New London Community.”

Riley Schussler

Schussler joins the district as a counselor at New London High School.

He is a Wrightstown Wisconsin native who earned his bachelor’s degree at Trinity International University and masterss at Concordia University.

“I love working with young adults and teenagers. Being a school counselor provides a great opportunity to serve and help students and their families be successful at school and at home,” said Schussler.

He’s looking forward to “building great relationships with students and staff,” and assisting both in any areas needed. He’s also looking forward to learning about the school and community while identifying how he can best serve students.

Kyle Collins

Collins joins the district as an English teacher at New London High School.

The Walworth Wisconsin native earned his bachelor’s degree in education from UW-LaCrosse.

He previously taught at Johnson Creek High School.

“I came from a family of teachers so I always knew I wanted to be a teacher,” said Walworth.

“I enjoy both teaching and coaching so I knew education would be a perfect fit,”

Collins said he‘s looking forward to getting to know the students, parents and the community.

Kevin Spindler

Spindler joins the district as a vocal, show choir and drama teacher at New London High School with 27 years experience in the field.

Having earned his bachelor’s degree in music education from UW-Green Bay he taught for 22 years in the Colby School District and five years in the Berlin School District.

Spindler says he “Loves working with young minds,” and became a teacher to pass on the wisdom that has been passed on to him, and the passion of music through life’s lessons.

He is looking forward to meeting as many students and faculty that he can, helping them become successful singers, and learning how to grow with the Bulldog community.

Christopher Doran

Doran returns the district with 18 prior experience at New London High School, New London Catalyst Academy and three years serving at Rawhide Youth Services.

Doran will teach special education at New London High School.

He has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Marian University, certification to teach reading from Viterbo University and certification in special education from UW-Oshkosh.

“I became a teacher so I could assist students with their educational needs.

My goal is to provide students with a positive and robust learning experience in the classroom and virtually,” said Doran.

Brent Dusek

Dusek returns to the district as a technology education instructor at New London High School.

He received his bachelor’s degree at UW-Stout and master’s degree in educational technology at Marian University.

Dusek has taught 10 years at New London Middle School and five years at Hortonville High School.

He will teach advanced metal processing, machining, intro to outdoor power equipment, advanced outdoor power equipment and invent to learn classes at the school.

“I became a teacher to inspire students and provide them with a foundation of knowledge to help them be successful in the community,” said Dusek.

He said he’s looking forward to building strong relationships with students, families and staff in New London this year.
