Suspect charged with burglary

Manawa man accused of criminal trespass said he needed place to sleep

Peter J. Klotzbuecher, 36, Manawa, is charged with burglary and criminal trespass.

In mid-August, Waupaca County Deputy Autumn Ferg was dispatched to a home in the town of Union.

She spoke to the owner, who said someone broke into his shed and stole an air compressor.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim suspected his brother, Klotzbuecher, due to prior incidents.

Investigators reported Klotzbuecher sold a compressor matching the one that was stolen at a pawn shop.

When questioned, Klotzbuecher reportedly admitted to stealing and selling the compressor.

On Aug. 31, Deputy Josh Krueger responded to a trespassing complaint at the same address in Union.

He found Klotzbuecher in a cabin on the property.

Klotzbuecher reportedly said he did not have permission to be there, but he was homeless and needed a place to sleep.

Klotzbuecher was released from custody on a $1,500 signature bond.
