Four local writers

Book signing event Oct. 3 in Waupaca

Local writers will be featured at a book signing event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at 938 Mead Drive, Waupaca.
The four authors are Dawn Kauper, Judy Hopfensperger, Jane Myhra and Ardis Mani.

They will be available to sign their books and have books for sale.

Mani and Myhra are seasoned writers, while Hopfensperger and Kauper recently published their first books.

Kauper’s book “Perfectly Imperfikt” is based on her experiences with children.

“This book will help you realize that you do not need to be perfect, but that your imperfections show the beauty of how uniquely, wonderful you are,” she said. “We are all perfectly imperfikt.”

Hopfensperger’s “Family, Faith and Friends” is a book of poetry.

“She is a natural poet,” Myhra said of Hopfensperger. “Her first book is delightful.”

Mani has a murder mystery series and several other published books.

Her Aubrey Steiner series includes “1/2 Priced Murder,” set in a supermarket, “Deadly Perspective,” with Steiner on the trail of a serial killer and “The Perfectionist,” where an earthquake complicates a murder investigation.

Her other books are “Common Insecurities: A Collection of Modern Fairytales and Poetry” and “A Savage Underworld,” a fantasy about a moth caught in a vacuum cleaner.

Myhra offers a mystical medieval adventure series beginning with “Sword of Gold: Heir to the Throne.” There are currently 11 books in this continuing series.

“I love the medieval genre,” Myhra said. “It allows my imagination to escape and soar.”

Also available will be three historical books written by Palmer Myhra (1921-2009): “A Frantic Saga,” a day-to-day account of the United States establishing air bases in Ukraine during World War II, “A Country Boy’s Depression,” about growing up in Rosholt, and “Zeb’s Water,” a true account of 1800s pioneers settling in the town of Lind.
