Manawa’s Buschke named top player

CWC lists all-conference volleyball teams

Twelve area volleyball players have received all-conference honors from the Central Wisconsin Conference.

Topping that list is Manawa senior Katie Buschke, who was named the player of the year in the CWC’s North Division and was also one of two unanimous first-team selections.

Iola-Scandinavia sophomore Jaelyn Sivertson made the CWC East Division’s first team after helping lead the Thunderbirds to a Division 3 regional championship.

Manawa senior Josie Nichols and junior Jaden Jaeger made the CWC-North second team, while senior Grace Johnson and junior Mikenna Wegener received honorable mention.

The CWC-East second team includes Iola-Scandinavia seniors Emilie Briquelet and Taylor Kielblock and Weyauwega-Fremont senior Hannah Timm and junior Clara Sedlar.

Iola-Scandinavia sophomore Marin Hoyord and Weyauwega-Fremont junior Jayden McCoy received honorable mention in the CWC-East.
