By Greg Seubert

Two local conservation groups will hold a sight-in clinic to get hunters ready for the upcoming gun deer season.

The Waupaca Conservation League and Iola Conservation Club have scheduled the clinics for Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 14-15.

The WCC clinic is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days at the league grounds, located off of Apple Tree Lane at E3340 Clubhouse Lane, Waupaca.

The ICC clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 14 and noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 15 at N7721 County Trunk J, Iola, just past Glacier Wood Golf Club.

The cost for the WCC clinic is $5 per firearm, which includes rifles, slug guns, hand guns and black powder rifles.

The fee also applies to WCC members.

Qualified assistance, targets, spotting scopes, bench rests and a lead sled will be provided, with a limit of 10 shots per firearm.

“Skilled marksmen will be present to assist with getting your rifle or shotgun sighted in properly,” ICC member Scott Bestul said. “Please bring your own ammunition that is correct and proper for your firearm. The sight-in is free, but contributions are welcome and appreciated.”

Coffee will be available.

Wisconsin’s gun deer season will open Saturday, Nov. 21, and continue through Sunday, Nov. 29.
