Turner, Gerald E.

Gerald E. Turner, age 87 of the Township of Larrabee, passed away late Monday evening, December 21, 2020 at The Pines Post-Acute & Memory Care, Embarrass.

Gerald Eugene Turner was born May 26, 1933 in Clintonville, WI, son to the late Leon and Lizzie (Voie) Turner. He graduated from Clintonville High School with the class of 1953; later enlisting in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict, stationed in Germany. After an honorable discharge from service, Gerald moved to Steger, IL where he started his career with the Ford Motor Company in salvage repair, a career he enjoyed. He was united in marriage to Dianna (Glassner) Bruette in Park Forest on Nov. 22, 1958. After a career of over 30 years at Ford, they decided to move back to Clintonville in the mid-1980s where he built a house on his parents property in the Township of Larrabee. Gerald was known for making great home-made wine, he could fix just about anything, loved motorcycles, and was good at wood-working. He was always the life of the party. A regular at Badger Tap, Embarrass, Gerald was known as the “Lucky Jerry,” because he always seemed to win raffle prizes for many local drawings. He was a very social person who loved to watch NASCAR and the Green Bay Packers. He will be remembered for the love he had for his family and his pets.

He is survived by his sons: Timothy (Christine) Turner, Sauk Village, IL; Thomas (Sandra) Turner, Steger, IL; Gerald E. (Connie) Turner Jr., Crete, IL; Russell Turner, Steger, IL; and Willard Bruette, Rhinelander; grandchildren: Amanda Turner, Christin (Joshua) Fisher, Tiffany (Justin) Bass, Cecelia Turner, Joseph Turner, Gerald E. Turner III, James Spegon, Jessica Turner, William Turner, Christopher (Danielle) Bruette, Michael Bruette, and Matthew (Lisa) Bruette; numerous great-grandchildren and extended family. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dianna; a granddaughter, Michelle Turner; his sister, Ardele Stanke; and his brother, Jerome Turner.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville with the Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville with military honors conducted by VFW Post #664, American Legion Post #63, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #63, all of Clintonville.
