Valorie Joan Nechkash, age 83, of New London, died peacefully on Monday, January 4, 2021 at home knowing she was loved by family and her Lord.
She was born on October 1, 1937 in Northport to the late Harold and Meta (Mentzel) Gorges.
Valorie is survived by her husband, James “Jake” Neckkash; children: Debra (Roger) Giddings, Vicki Walsh, Brenda Bruhn, James Nechkash Jr. and Wanda Nechkash; grandchildren: James (Molly) Giddings, John (Melanie) Giddings, Paul Giddings (special friend Jenna), Aaron (fiancée Amy) Walsh, Erik Walsh, Zachary (Katherine) Knackstedt, Tasha McKay, Eva Franklyn, Jake McCay, Cheyenne (Drake) Fischer and Dakota Nechkash; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Cameron (Judi) Gorges; and son-in-law, Michael Walsh. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Valorie was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Richard Knackstedt; siblings, Bev (Lowell) Feathers and Chan (Nancy) Gorges.
The memorial service for Valorie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London with Rev. William Heiges officiating. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
