After dropping three straight North Eastern Conference games, the Waupaca girls’ basketball team hit the road and returned home Jan. 25 with a 63-38 win over Luxemburg-Casco.

The Comets also dropped home games to Wrightstown Jan. 23 and Little Chute Jan. 21.

Wrightstown 75, Waupaca 39

The Comets held Wrightstown’s leading scorer, Leah Lemke, to four points in the second half.

However, she did most of her damage in the first half by scoring 20 of the Tigers’ 42 points.

Wrightstown led 42-20 at halftime before outscoring the Comets 33-19 in the second half.

Cassidy Wegener led Waupaca with nine points and Lemke led all scorers with 24.

Little Chute 56, Waupaca 51

The Mustangs outscored Waupaca 31-29 in the first half and 25-22 in the second.

Olivia Levine and Savannah Wehmeyer led Waupaca with 15 and 14 points, respectively, while Little Chute’s Morgan Trzebiatowski led all scorers with 24.

The Comets will host Marinette at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, and have a home game with Freedom scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30.
