Deputies seize evidence in Iola

An Iola man is currently in custody after deputies seized evidence of child porn from his home.

Authorities executed a search warrant at the home of Henry T. Macdonald, 47, on Wednesday, Feb. 10.

They seized computers, USB drives and mobile phones as evidence.

Waupaca County Detective Sgt. Timothy Myers processed the seized items and reported discovering hundreds of images and videos depicting child pornography.

The activity dated back several years, according to a press release from the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office.

Macdonald is currently in custody, awaiting felony charges of possession of child pornography.

Myers initiated an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation on Jan. 26, following a cybertip reported by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office is an active member of the Wisconsin Wisconsin Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, collaborating with the state Division of Criminal Investigation and agencies around the world to stop online child enticement.

The Iola Police Department assisted the sheriff’s office.
