Wasrud, Dawn Audrey

Dawn Audrey Wasrud, a loved child of God, transitioned to her next life with her Savior on Saturday morning, February 13, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Dawn was born February 02, 1935 to Arthur and Ermine Woltmann of Marshfield, Wisconsin. She was a graduate of Marshfield High School. Dawn served as a missionary in Thailand with her first husband, a Lutheran Pastor. It was during that time when they adopted daughter Diane Welai. Upon returning from Thailand, Dawn served as an accountant in various hospitals in North Dakota and Wisconsin. Starting in 1973, Dawn served as a farming partner at the DewAcres Dairy Farm with second husband Donald Wasrud. They tended to a herd of 30 dairy cows until their retirement from farming in the late 1990s. Dawn also served as Clerk for the Town of Scandinavia for over 30 years and was active in Scandinavia Lutheran Church as choir director and Patience Circle leader and participant. Dawn had a special ministry of her own in her church and in life. She enjoyed writing devotions for others and leading music that helped strengthen her faith and brought others closer to the Lord. Dawn will be remembered for her unwavering faith and trust in God and for her love and devotion to her family and friends.

Dawn is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ermine Woltmann, and sister-in-law Ramona (David) Woltmann. She is survived by her husband Donald Wasrud of Iola, Wisconsin; sister Rachel (Roger) Seefeldt of Marshfield, and brothers, David of Wausau, and Paul (Judy) Woltmann of Marshfield. Other family members include daughter Diane (Dean) Doersch of Iola, and granddaughters, Danielle Stull of Chicago, Illinois, Dara (Adam) Clifford of Kaukauna, DeAnna (Brok) Doersch of Jacksonville, Florida, and Delaney Doersch of Milwaukee. In her last years, Dawn loved spending time with her great-granddaughter Miriam Diane Clifford.

Dawn’s family is extremely grateful for the love and support of all her caregivers from ThedaCare at Home hospice services and beyond. They also became family during these last few months.
