Berkholtz, Christian R.

Christian R. Berkholtz, age 40, of Marion unexpectedly succumbed to grief and sadness Friday, April 9, 2021 at his childhood home in the Town of Helvetia, Waupaca County.

Christian was born on April 22, 1980 as the son of the late Jerome “Jerry” and Elizabeth (MacPhail) Berkholtz. He was a 1998 graduate of Marion High School and married his childhood girlfriend, Christy Polzin on August 21, 2004 at the gazebo at Glen Cairn Golf Course owned by his family. Starting at a young age Christian was working and golfing at Glen Cairn. Out of high school and at his parent’s request, Christian began working for Cramer’s Vernon Hills Golf Course in Peshtigo where he learned the grounds keeping trade. He then worked for Greg Manske building cabinets, Scenic Valley Lawn Care, Community Lawn Care at Ag Ventures, Walker Forge, and was currently working at Miller Electric. In 2007, Christian followed his dream of running the family golf course with his wife Christy. He used his artistic abilities to shape the grounds to bring out the true nature of the course. Christian was always up for an adventure and loved sharing those with Christy, along with family and friends. He loved to golf, snowmobile, and against his better judgement even went kayaking earlier this spring. Christian had a huge heart, but was afraid to show it at times. His fun-loving attitude will be missed immensely by his family and closest friends.

Survivors include: his wife, Christy; brother, Charles “Tanner” (Tracy Doherty) Berkholtz; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ken and Connie Polzin; sisters-in-law: Charity (Matt) Rasmussen, Chasity Polzin, and Casey (Ryan) Konrad; nieces and nephews: Wyatt, Waylon, Ana, Konnor, Carly, Keenan, and Chandler. Christian was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and aunts, Eleanor (Don) Holub and Grace (George) Reese.

A Celebration of Christian’s Life will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at the Glen Cairn Clubhouse, N9254 Campbell Lake Rd, Town of Helvetia, beginning with a devotion by Rev. Brian Crocker at 4 p.m.

Christian’s family would also like to thank the responding officers of the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department for their kindness and support. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is assisting his family. www.eberhardtstevenson.com

Love is stronger than death; even though it can’t stop death from happening. But no matter how hard death tries it can’t separate people from love. It can’t take away our memories either. In the end, life is stronger than death.
