Flease, George Robert “Bob”

George Robert Flease “Bob”, age 85 of New London, passed away at his residence on Monday, April 12, 2021.

Bob was born on July 24, 1935 in New London to the late George and Rose (Reidl) Flease. He was united in marriage to Joan Graef on June 21, 1958 in New London. Bob served in the US Navy Reserves. He worked at Automotive Supply and RE & D/Curwood for 24 years. He started Flease’s Tree Farm in 1990 and was a School District of New London bus driver for 16 years. Bob was also a volunteer fireman in New London, served as an alderman and town supervisor for Mukwa, and member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a Waupaca County Board member and served as Chairman of the highway committee for over 30 years. He especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed going to their activities.

Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan; sons, Mike (Sandy) and Steve (Ronda Williams); granddaughter, Amanda (Nick) Traeger; grandson, Kyle (Lauren) Flease; great-grandchildren, Adelyn and Carson Traeger and great-grandbaby Flease on the way and his sister, Naomi Johnson. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Veronica (Roman) Contos, Francis “Pete” (Sally) Flease, Clair (Marge) Flease and Virginia (Jim) Heenan and his brother-in-law, Jim Johnson.

A public visitation for Bob will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London. The funeral will be private and for family only. A private burial will be at Northport Ostrander Cemetery, town of Mukwa. www.clinehansonfuneralhome.com
