Mork, Julian “Juicy” H.

Julian “Juicy” H. Mork, age 88, of Scandinavia, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021.

He was born in Scandinavia, WI on March 31, 1933 to the late Harvey and Hilda (Reierson) Mork. He graduated from Scandinavia Union High School in 1950. On October 6, 1951 he was united in marriage to Kathryn J. Guillen, and together they raised six children and fostered numerous more. They also hosted a couple of foreign exchange students. Kathryn preceded him in death on March 24, 2021.

Julian loved the game of baseball. He coached and played for many years with the Scandinavia Vikings and was on the 1954 BABA championship team. He was a volunteer fireman with the Scandinavia Fire Department for 15 years, assuming the role of chief for several years. Julian was a member of the Iola Winter Sports Club where his children were involved in ski jumping. He enjoyed tending to his garden and working in the yard. Julian was also very involved with ARC and had been a part of his church choir.

He will be sadly missed by his children: Leslieann (Jerry) Rasmussen of Scandinavia, Jeffrey Mork of Iola, David (Kris) Mork of Scandinavia, Jay (Mary) Mork of Scandinavia, Dell (Shelley) Mork of Waupaca, and Lisa (Mark) McQueen of Plainfield, IL. He is further survived by 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Julian was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn; a son, Tommy; grandson, Ryan Mork; and siblings: Elaine, Phillip, and Delores.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2021 at Scandinavia Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. Sunday at the Maple Crest Funeral Home, and again at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in the Scandinavia Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund was established.
