Zierler acting chief since October 2020

Paul Zierler is the Village of Iola’s new police chief.
He had been serving as acting chief since Bob Prahl’s retirement in October 2020.
“I am honored and grateful to have the opportunity to continue to serve the people of Iola as chief,” Zierler said.
He brings with him 22 years of experience and said his strong communication skills and ability to empathize with people in different situations are the greatest assets that he brings to the position.
Zierler said his greatest challenge will be keeping up with the quickly changing technology utilized by law enforcement and those committing crimes.
“I look forward to making a difference in the community and to being a mentor to other officers to help them reach their full potential,” he said.
