Lions host pancake breakfast

Father’s Day event at Waupaca airport

For almost three decades the Waupaca Lions Club has been flipping pancakes and serving up breakfast on Father’s Day at the Waupaca Municipal Airport.

Rain or shine, the community could count on the Lions to hold this annual event. Unfortunately last year, just like other large gatherings, the pancake breakfastt was cancelled due to the pandemic.

With the number of Covid-19 cases declining, the smell of pancakes on the grill will once again fill the air at the airport on Father’s Day.

The Waupaca Lions Club Fly-in/Drive-In Pancake Breakfast is scheduled for 7 a.m. to noon Sunday, June 20.

The serving and sitting area will be set up in the City of Waupaca’s Community Hanger at the Waupaca Municipal Airport.

The breakfast will consist of pancakes, eggs, sausage, and beverages of orange juice, milk and coffee.

Guests can come to this event by car or by plane. The pilot will eat for free.

Per CDC advisement, masks will not be required at this event.

Besides breakfast, the Lions will also offer free vision screening with their high tech SPOT Vision camera. The Waupaca Fire Department will have their fire truck on location for the children to explore. Some Lions Club members will have heir vintage automobiles on display.

Raffle tickets will be sold for cash prizes.
