On June 1, Waupaca County Deputy James Santiago responded to a home in the village of Scandinavia.

Santiago spoke to a woman who said Bellin had pushed her into a kitchen counter, causing a bruise on her hip the previous night. She wanted the deputy to help her retrieve her clothes because Bellin would not allow her to do so.

According to the criminal complaint. Bellin initially accused the woman of hitting him, then admitted that she did not strike him.

The woman showed Santiago a deep purple bruise on her left hip.

She said Bellin had been drinking rum when the incident occurred. She accused Bellin of being mean and aggressive,

During an argument, Bellin allegedly pushed her into an island countertop.

She left the house with her purse and the bottle of rum, dumping the rum and throwing the bottle into some bushes in the front yard.

As Santiago was transporting him to jail, Bellin reportedly said he was going to show up at Santiago’s house with his buddy and see how tough he really is.

Bellin then said he was a bowhunter and “when that big buck shows up at your doorstep, you have to lay an arrow in it,” the complaint says.

Bellin was released on a $2,000 signature bond with the conditions that he have no contact with the victim and not possess any dangerous weapons.
