Driver charged with 11th OWI

Clintonville man in custody on $20,000 cash bond

A Clintonville man with 10 prior drunken driving convictions is back in jail following another arrest.

Gregg Scotto, 60, is charged with an 11th OWI and operating after his license was revoked.

He remains in custody on a $20,000 cash bond.

On July 16, Clintonville Police Officer Andrew Kizewski stopped a blue Ford Ranger in the EconoFoods parking lot.

Kizewski reported that the driver made a left turn onto Bennett Street from West Madison Street without using his turn signal.

He also noted that the store had been closed for more than an hour and the vehicle was registered to Scotto, whose license was revoked.

“Scotto was losing his balance and appeared as if he might fall,” according to the criminal complaint.

On April 28, 2003, Scotto was convicted of his seventh, eighth and ninth OWIs and sentenced to a total of three years in state prison.

On Jan. 15, 2014, Scotto was convicted of his 10th drunken driving offense and sentenced to two years in prison.

He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted of an 11th OWI.
