Coffee shop hosts book signing

Fischer to celebrate publication of first novel

Familiar Grounds will host a book signing from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 11.

Local author Ric Fischer will celebrate the publication of his debut novel, Chameleons.

Fischer began writing while a student at Sugar Bush Elementary School. He has written screenplays, lyrics and short stories, and is currently working on his second novel.

After studying abroad and taking classes in Birkbeck, England during his senior collegiate year, he continues to have a passion for writing and storytelling.

The pandemic temporarily displaced Fischer and brought him back to the area. The quiet life of living with his parents in a small town afforded him the time to write Chameleons.

Fischer looks forward to meeting people and speaking about the writing process and self-publishing a book.

Copies of Chameleons will be available for purchase. The book can also be found on Amazon.

Familiar Grounds is located at 206 N .Pearl St., New London.
