Suehring, Kenneth “Ken” G.

Kenneth “Ken” G. Suehring, age 86 of Clintonville passed away Friday morning, August 27, 2021 at Elder Lodge Assisted Living in Neenah.

Kenneth “Ken” Grover Suehring was born November 11, 1934 in the Township of Grant, Shawano County, son to the late Frederick and Lydia (Hass) Suehring. He graduated from Tigerton High School with the class of 1952, and attended U.W. River Falls for about two years. Ken served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army in September of 1953, and was a small arms instructor at Fort Benning. He later traveled to Germany, where he drove staff vehicles for officers; he was honorably discharged in November of 1956. Ken was united in marriage to Dorothy M. Kuschel on February 15, 1959 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville, where the couple remained long-time members. After working at the F.W.D. in Clintonville for a short time, Ken was hired by the Clintonville Post Office. He was a mail carrier within the city for about 10 years, and then started carrying mail on the rural routes until his retirement in 1987, after 33 years. Ken served as a former mayor of the City of Clintonville, and was also a past president of the Wisconsin Rural Letter Carriers Association. He loved golf, Trout fishing, and deer hunting. Ken and Dorothy also like to try their luck at the casinos. He took joy in looking after his immaculate lawn and yard, as well as his flower and vegetable gardens. Ken loved his family and enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren.

Survivors include: children, Kathie Graham, Tracie (Rob) Johnson, and Todd Suehring; grandchildren: Jennifer Graham, Kaitlyn (Matt) Jacobs, Michael Graham, Ryan Graham, Perri (James) Vasko, Kennedy Johnson, and Evan Suehring; sisters, Betty (Benjamin) Rindt and Beatrice Moede. Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; a son-in-law, Mike Graham; sisters: Gertrude Brietenfelt, Doris Biersdorf, Alice Petke, Leona Krasine, and Velma Pringnitz; and a brother, Herbert Suehring.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, August 30, 2021 at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville with Rev. Brian Weber officiating. Interment will take place at St. Martin Cemetery, Township of Larrabee, following the service. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post #664, American Legion Post #63, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #63, all of Clintonville.
