Teams raise breast cancer awareness

By Greg Seubert

A North Eastern Conference win over Denmark wasn’t in the cards Sept. 28 for the Clintonville volleyball team.

Raising funds for the fight against breast cancer was, however.

The Truckers dropped three sets to Denmark, but was able to raise money for the Susan G. Komen organization, the world’s largest nonprofit source of funding for the fight against breast cancer, through a raffle ticket sale and gift basket auction.

Denmark opened the match with a pair of 25-12 wins and completed the sweep with a 25-21 win in the third set.

The Truckers returned to conference play Sept. 30 in Appleton against Fox Valley Lutheran; will host Wrightstown on Tuesday, Oct. 5; and will head to Little Chute Thursday, Oct. 7.
