Myhra, Terri Ellen

Terri Ellen Myhra, 62, died Thursday, October 21, 2021, in Appleton.

She was born in Iola on February 10, 1959 to Palmer and Lois Myhra. Terri graduated from Iola-Scandinavia High School in 1977. She then attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh obtaining a Bachelor of Science in English, Reading Education, ESL (English as a Second Language), and a Masters in English Education. Terri was passionate about teaching. Her goal was to promote education and literacy in communities and throughout the world. She had taught English, writing, reading, and math at school districts and community colleges throughout Wisconsin and Arizona. She was currently employed as an online instructor. One of her favorite quotes was: “I am indebted to my father for living, but to my teacher for living well.” – Alexander the Great

Terri is survived by her daughter and best friend, Tara Herwig of Appleton. She is also survived by four sisters: Kathleen (David) Olson of Red Wing, Minnesota; Nancy (Stan) Smith of Wausau; Jane Myhra of Waupaca; Judy (John) Smith of Oshkosh; nieces and nephews: Terri (Fran Chistjohn) Smith of Stevens Point; Jeffrey (Meagan) Smith of Madison; Kristoffer (Erinn Liebhard)) Olson of Saint Paul, Minnesota; Heather Olson of Saint Paul, Minnesota; Amy (David) Berg of Neenah; and Kevin Smith of Oshkosh. She is also survived by other relatives and friends. Terri was preceded in death by her parents, Palmer and Lois Myhra.

A private celebration of life will be held.
