Blink, Charles “Charlie”

Charles “Charlie” Blink, age 72 of New London passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Neenah.

Charles Joseph Blink was born on December 23, 1948 at New London hospital to Mainard and Merle (Thompson) Blink Sr. He graduated from New London High School. Charlie was united in marriage on September 21, 1974 to Linda L. Lindsten at Ascension Lutheran Church, Navarino. He worked for a short time at Hortonville Wire Products. Then Charlie started at Hillshire Farm in New London. He worked for close to 30 years in Shipping & Receiving area, retiring in 2011. Charlie was an avid outdoorsman who always enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially liked going deer, turkey, or bear hunting. Another hobby that became a favorite pastime was raising chickens. Charlie also liked family get-togethers and he especially loved spending time with his granddaughter Angela.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Linda; three daughters, Patricia Blink of New London, Kristine (Nicholas) Zachman of Marshfield, and Katie (friend Ira Strey) Blink of Chili, WI; and one granddaughter, Angela. There are eight siblings: Gerald (Bonnie) Blink, Donald (Linda) Blink, Joann (Tom) Carelli, Joyce (Chuck) Drephal, Gordon Blink, Cindy Lyons, Debbie Doyle, and Janet Bergman. He is further survived by one sister-in-law, Jo Ann Bassette; two brothers-in-law, Dave Doede and Melvin Niemuth; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leon Bassette and Mainard Blink Jr.; and five sisters, Rosemary Niemuth, Ruthann O’Bright, Jean Doede, Dawn Groeschel, and Sharon Wesley.

Graveside Service will be held on Friday, November 5th at 1:00 at Ascension Lutheran Cemetery, Navarino, with Pastor Bob Besch officiating. There will also be a “Celebration of Life” gathering held for family and friends at a later date. Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, is assisting with the arrangements.
