Fatal crash on U.S. 10

Mother, unborn child killed near Weyauwega

A 26-year-old woman and her unborn child were killed in a crash on U.S. Highway 10 near Reek Road west of Weyauwega.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at 9:25 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, Genesis Stanton, 26, Appleton, was driving a Chevy Malibu eastbound on a westbound lane of U.S. 10 when she crashed head-on into a westbound Mini Cooper.

The Mini Cooper was passing a semi-trailer at the time of the crash.

The two vehicles hit the driver’s side of the semi-trailer, then came to rest on the median.

Lianna Eve Kalenuik, 19, South Milwaukee, was driving the Mini Cooper.

She and two male passengers, ages 41 and 15, were transported to Theda Clark in Neenah for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The semi driver was not injured.

The State Patrol is investigating and reconstructing the crash, as well as conducting a post-crash inspection of the semi
tractor-trailer.
