Marion A. Utschig, age 102 of Clintonville passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the St. Joseph Residence in New London where she had been a resident the past few years. She was surrounded by family, friends, and her pastor.

Marion was born on March 24, 1919 in Greendale, WI as the daughter of the late Otto and Mary (Kethelhohn) Demien. She graduated from high school and completed two years of college prior to working as a bookkeeper for the IRS. In 1943 Marion was united in marriage to Daniel S. Storm and the couple had a daughter Patricia before Daniel was killed in action while serving his country during WWII. In 1948 Marion married John “Ralph” Utschig in Milwaukee where they resided prior to moving to Chilton, then Kaukauna, and eventually settled in Clintonville in 1960. Marion worked for the Shopper’s Guide in Clintonville and was a dedicated homemaker; not only for her family but for many area children and friends as needed. Her faith grew as she was a member of two churches over the years, the First Congregational United Church of Christ and the Methodist Church, both in Clintonville. Marion was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was active helping out with the scouts and wherever needed at church.

Survivors include: her daugher, Patricia (George) Greeley; son, Daniel (Sue) Utschig; a son-in-law, Michael Ptacek; grandchildren: Shannon Greeley, Nicole (Chris) Jenkins, Christie Ptacek, Benjamin (Kai Takatsuka) Ptacek, and Angela (Brad) Dillman; great-grandchildren: Bryn Jenkins and Aida, Ilse, and Henrik Dillman; also, nieces and nephews: Donna Lee (Chuck) Roloff, Mary Ellen (Dick) Melcher, and Jim (Gail) Mathis. Marion was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Daniel Storm and Ralph Utschig; a daughter, Judy Ptacek; brothers, Roland (Evelyn) Demien and Robert (Lucille) Demien; two more siblings in infancy, and by a niece Deanna LaCombe.

A memorial service will be held for Marion on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Clintonville with Rev. Diana Ziegler officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Sunday from 12 p.m. until the time of service. Another Celebration of Marion’s life will be held later this summer so please check back for further details.
