The Tomorrow River School District dedicated its nearly completed renovation and expansion project on Wednesday, Aug. 28.
Voters approved the $25.7 million referendum projects in April 2022 to makeover existing spaces and add a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) Center.
The district-wide project included 17,000 square feet of renovations to middle school classrooms, family and consumer science areas, and library spaces; infrastructure replacements and upgrades; expansion of District/high school administrative and support spaces; and safety and security improvements.
The pinnacle of the project was the addition of the state-of-the-art, 22,280 square foot Herbert and Evelyn Wolding Family STEAM Center.
“Nothing says we’re ready for a new school year like dedicating our new spaces and hosting our annual open house to welcome staff, students and families back,” said Tomorrow River School District Administrator Ryan Ruggles, “Everything looks fantastic and we’re just about ready to welcome students back next week. Thank you to Hoffman for all of their guidance and expertise across the project. Everything turned out amazing.”
The district partnered with Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, Inc. prior to the referendum for a comprehensive assessment and continued the relationship after the referendum passed with Hoffman providing design and construction management services.
“The Tomorrow River renovations and the new STEAM Center are critical additions for the District and will positively impact students for decades,” said Matt McGregor, Hoffman director of project management. “On behalf of Hoffman, we are excited to turn over these new and enhanced spaces to the district as they prepare for the upcoming school year.”
