Fall Fest in New London

Three days of weekend fun are planned Friday through Sunday, Sept. 13-15, in New London.

Festivities begin from 5-8 p.m. Friday with Wheels on Werner Allen.   This no fuss, no registration car show is open to all makes and models of collector cars, trucks and motorcycles.

Those who are bringing a vehicle to the show should plan to enter Hatten Park through Jennings Street before 4 p.m.

Werner Allen will close at 4 p.m. to allow bus and student traffic to move through.

Spectators can see some old classics, participate in raffles, and win prizes as Yo DJ Entertainment supplies the tunes.

Fireworks will be shot off from Allen Field in Hatten Park at dusk. Spectators are encouraged to sit near the middle school grass lot to see the fireworks and stay parked until the show is completed.

Saturday, Sept. 14

Fall Feast plans a full day of family activities, entertainment, food and music from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in downtown New London.

There will be more than 250 craft booths, produce and market vendors lining Werner Allen. Visitors to the chamber booth may sample and purchase Wisconsin cheese and sausage.

Activities for families and children are planned from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fun Zone, located by The Waters Supper Club.

There are no fees to enter or participate. Activities include a bouncy house, face painting, balloon twisting, a magician and a dunk tank,

New London FFA will have a petting zoo, Wolf River Art League will host children’s activities and Victory Church will sponsor a carnivl-size slide.

Live music is scheduled throughout the day.

The Burdocks will perform from 10 a.m. to noon on Werner Allen, Peter Wall will play from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Fun Zone on Wolf River Avenue and Brothers Squared are slated from noon to 2 p.m. on Werner Allen.

Sunday, Sept. 15

Longevity Nutrition will sponsor Shine Bright against Cancer Color Splash Run/Walk.

In its sixth year, the event will kick off at noon in Hatten Park.

Participation contributes to a scholarship that will be given out in the spring to a local senior in honor of Laura Turner, a New London teacher who fought a battle against cancer along with this year recognizing a family who is currently fighting cancer.

Longevity will hold a raffle for a $100 VISA gift card during run/walk.
