Waupaca County sheriff’s report March 8

• March 6 – A Weyauwega caller requested a welfare check on a man that was texting his wife and asking if people would care if he was dead. The man had talked about suicide in the past and there were weapons in the house.

• March 6 – A female caller from Marion reported a 51-year old man who was being combative with her.

• March 6 – A caller from Manawa reported that a man was walking back and forth in the middle of the road while covering his eyes. The person was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and pajama pants.

• March 6 – A Waupaca mother called to complain that her daughter’s boyfriend slammed a door on her daughter’s face. No injuries reported.

• March 5 – A New London daughter stated that her father was not in a good mental state and that he was sad that she was moving out. He was crying but there was no report of self harm.

• March 5 – A caller reported that on the E700 block of State Highway 54 a barn or shed was engulfed in flame.

• March 5 – An Iola man called to complain of a blue Liberty Jeep going 20 mph under speed limit and would not allow him to pass.

• March 5 – The Canadian National Railroad called to report a white SUV parked near a track crossing. A man ran toward the train and then back to the vehicle. He did this multiple times as if he was playing a game of chicken with the train.

• March 5 – A man calling from Ninth Street in Clintonville reported a suspicious car driving around the area for 30 minutes. The driver would park in driveways and then would drive around some more.

• March 5 – A Clintonville woman on the E1000 block of County Trunk C heard a loud ringing outside her bedroom window and then heard a gunshot. She turned on a light and nothing was there.

• March 5 – A Weyauwega man called about an argument in a bar with 4-5 people pushing each other around. No injuries reported.

• March 4 – A Menasha women reported a hit-and-run. She noticed damage to the rear quarter panel of her Subaru while it was parked in front of Hotel Fremont.

• March 4 – A New London woman on Stage Road reported that people came through the woods and threw dirtballs at her house between 6 p.m. and midnight.

• March 4 – A male overdosed in Manawa. He was found with no pulse and not breathing. Police administered Naloxone.

• March 4 – A Department of Human Services caller requested a welfare check on a women who was found drunk, lying on a couch, unable to get up and covered with feces.

• March 3 – A New London man reported that while he was out of town, his wife cut open his business safe with a reciprocating saw, took an unknown amount of cash, refused to return it and filed for divorce.

• March 3 – An Iola man called about his drunken girlfriend hitting and kicking him.

• March 2 – A Manawa man from the N8200 block of River Road reported a maroon truck trespassing on his land. He stated he had trail cam pictures of the truck.

• March 2 – A Waupaca man called about his credit card information being stolen. Purchases were made from Illinois.

• March 2 – A Waupaca women called to report two males departing a gas station that appeared intoxicated. One of them walked right into her car. They departed heading towards Iola.

• March 1 – Verizon Wireless in Waupaca called about a man digging through their garbage looking for phones. The man later went over to Aldi’s.

• Feb. 28 – A Waupaca man on Erickson Road reported that a man obsessed with his girlfriend will not stop calling him and his girlfriend.

• Feb. 28 – The Wisconsin Veterans Home in King called about a resident who continues to smoke marijuana after being warned about it.

• Feb. 28 – A New London mother called about her son throwing a fit and making suicidal comments.
