Hartmann, Marsalette L.

Marsalette L. Hartmann, age 66 of the Township of Deer Creek, passed away surrounded by her loving family, on Monday January 3, 2022 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton.

The former Marsalette Louise Hale was born September 19, 1955 near Corpus Christi, TX, the daughter of Donna (McClain) Hale and the late Thomas Hale. Her mother was very ill and hospitalized during the last half of her pregnancy, and once Marsalette was born, there were a host of new challenges for both mother and baby and she came out the gate fighting. Having to be the warrior she was, she always accepted new challenges and didn’t let anything stop her once she set her mind to it. Marsalette was determined to do things her way which resulted in her setting out on her own early in life. Her family now lovingly refers to her as a long-haired, barefoot, free-spirited, hippie; but through the challenges growing up made her realize that she needed to live her life free of the constraints of others and just be herself. With four little children in tow, Marsalette made her way north making her home in northeast Wisconsin. Above all, she loved her children and had a different, but special relationship with all seven of them! The children recall their mother making the best of every situation as long as they were together. Growing up near the Gulf, Marsalette was a gifted swimmer and loved being in the water. She also loved being outside in nature, taking rides in the car with the wind in her hair, and was a great cook and provider for her children. She enjoyed selling fireworks in the summer and spending time with her family. Marsalette will be remembered as a loving mother who always told it like it is, and unapologetically lived life her way, without regret. It is what it is and it ain’t what it ain’t.

She is survived by her: daughters: Denise (Jacob) Gibbs, Clintonville; Kami (Jason Bunnow) Martin, Townsend; and Gina Hansen and Ryan Thompson, Wrightstown; sons: Robert (Stephanie Mitchell) Martin, Berlin; Clifford (Stephanie) Martin, Appleton; Jacob Hartmann, Clintonville; and Jesse (Ashley Schweitzer) Hartmann, Clintonville; mother, Donna Hale, Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren: Audrey Hattermann, Madeline and Gage Gibbs, Korbin Martin, Lawrence and Paige Mitchell, Lily Nichols, Sylis Louis, Alley, Savana, and Breanna Bunnow, Kaylee, Videl, Kyra, Nylah, and Peyton Martin, and Ethan and Evan Koeller; sister, Debra (Rodney) Eulenfeld, Corpus Christi, TX; brothers, Ronny (Karen) Hale, Ingleside, TX and Danny (Cindy) Hale, Corpus Christi, TX; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives. Marsalette was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Hale; a sister, Kimberly Hudspeth; and brothers, Milo and Terry Hale.
