Vandalism damage at Graceland Cemetery

Clintonville police seek information

By Jeff Hoffman

Authorities are asking the public’s help for any information about vandalism at Graceland Cemetery on South Main Street in Clintonville.

According to Cemetery Administrator Darrell Hansen, a vehicle caused a significant amount of damage between the hours of 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 15.

Not only was the damage caused to the landscape, burial sites and burial decorations were also damaged.

Hansen said he was at the cemetery that afternoon for a burial service and found nothing out of the ordinary.

He said a Clintonville officer reported noticing something unusual at 10:30 p.m. March 15, but he called away on another matter and did not return to the cemetery.

A cemetery worker reported the damage the following morning.

Hansen said Jeremy Gretzinger, of Gretzinger Landscaping and Evergreens in Shawano, has offered to repair the damage at no cost.

Anyone with information may contact the Clintonville Police Department at 715-823-3117.
