Kresl, Anne Marie Torborg

Anne Marie Torborg Kresl, Suamico, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022 surrounded by her family.

Annie was born near Seoul, South Korea on January 20, 1961, and on December 8, 1964, was welcomed into the loving arms of the Albert and Betty Torborg family of Clintonville, WI. Annie enjoyed choir, piano and various sports in high school and was a graduate of Suomi College, where she sang with the travelling choir. Naturalized as a U.S Citizen in the 3rd Grade, Annie was a patriot and loved her country dearly. On May 11, 1985, Annie married Mike Kresl, eventually settling in Suamico. Prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom, Annie worked in banks in the Green Bay area. On June 24, 1992, Annie gained her favorite title, “Mom,” when her and Mike gave birth to their daughter Kendel. Annie had a great love of family and was a social person who made many friends both near and far. Annie loved animals including the dogs she had throughout her life – Murphy, Minnie, Sunny and Lilo. Annie also had a myriad of interests and hobbies over the years including hiking and camping, downhill skiing, boating on the Bay, singing in various area choirs, cross-stitching, crocheting, tackling the most challenging of jigsaw puzzles and upon occasion, enjoying a cold one with her friends. Annie loved to read, play games on her phone and shop on QVC or at the mall. She also loved to travel including recent (pre-Covid) visits to Hawaii, England, the Caribbean and South Korea as well as regular junkets to Chicago and L.A. She was nothing less than courageous in standing up to her health challenges and lived a very active life.

Annie is survived by her husband of 36 years, Mike; daughter Kendel (Nicholas Paul) of Chicago, IL; sisters: Susan Torborg of Green Bay, WI; Peg (Pete) Salm of Green Bay, WI; Patti (Mark) Magee of Shawano, WI; Mary Jo (Bill) Humpal of Hubertus, WI; brothers: Bob (Julie) Torborg of Shawano, WI; Gerry (Vicky) Torborg of Clintonville, WI; Jim Torborg of Shawano, WI; sister-in-law, Pam Torborg of Clintonville, WI; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
