Two students advance to state

New London sophomores compete in Wisconsin Civics Games

Wyatt Adamovich and Jack Kedinger, sophomores at New London High School, recently qualified for state competition in the Wisconsin Civics Games.

Sponsored by the Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation, the contest aims to promote civics education and encourage Wisconsin high school students to develop an interest in public service.

The 2022 Wisconsin Civics Games regional competitions were held virtually on Friday, April 22.

Adamovich and Kedinger have an interest in and passion for civics and American government.

Last year, both students were in NLHS’s American and Global Studies course. This year, Adamovich and Kedinger are students in Advanced Placement U.S. History.

The top three teams at regionals were Ashwaubenon, Seymour and New London.

By finishing among the top three teams, New London’s duo advanced to the state finals set for Friday, May 13, at the Wisconsin State Capitol.

Members of the state championship-winning team will receive $2,000 scholarships to the Wisconsin college or university of their choice.
