The community broke ground at Hortonville High School Tuesday, May 17.

The building improvement project is part of a $46 million referendum passed in April 2021, which includes ongoing construction at Greenville Middle School and now at Hortonville High School.

Work in Greenville began in the fall of 2021 and is expected to be complete by the start of the 2022-23 school year.
Improvements at the high school will include:

• A two-story, 12-classroom addition with new restrooms

• Special Needs, Health Room, and Food Labs renovations

• Restroom renovations

• Exterior facade improvements

• Expanded parking area

• A two-story addition onto existing Fieldhouse for physical education locker rooms and wrestling area

• Renovation of existing locker rooms

• Fitness center renovations

• New multipurpose space

• District Office renovation

District Administrator Todd Timm said the district has spent the last year working with its design team, construction partners, staff and user groups to ensure every detail of the additions and renovations were designed for current and future students.

Growing district

“Thank you to our communities who supported our spring referendum to add needed space onto Greenville Middle School and Hortonville High School,” said Timm.

“Our enrollment nine years ago was just over 3,000 students in the school district and we just crossed over 4,400 students recently in the last couple weeks,” he added.

“We are a district of choice. People want to come here that live in other communities as evidenced by our open enrollment numbers and people moving to our communities for a lot of different reasons. Great schools are one of those reasons,” said Timm.
