Kern, Stanley – UPDATED

Stanley “Stan” Kern, age 93 of Clintonville passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Kindred Hearts Assisted Living, Clintonville.

Stanley Edward Kern was born on August 13, 1928, at home in Appleton to George and Agnes (Weiland) Kern. He was united in marriage on January 25, 1969, to Gaila M. Doman at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Stephensville. Stan dairy farmed with his brother Vernon for many years in the Town of Ellington, Outagamie County. The couple moved to Hortonville in 1984 and he drove gravel truck for close to 12 years with Spaulding Company in Greenville. Stan retired in 1998 and they settled in Clintonville. His wife of 43 years preceded him in death on September 11, 2012.

Stan was a longtime member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville, where he served as an Usher for a number of years. He liked bowling and playing cards. Stan often enjoyed playing sheepshead with his friends in Bear Creek, Bean City, and at the Clintonville Senior Center.

Survivors include two stepdaughters, Pat Ruckdashel and Leanna Lorge; and many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. He is further survived by a special friend, Shirley Hanson and her extended family, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Gaila; three sisters, Clotta (Vernon) Lamb, Gertrude (Art) Joos, and Althea Kern; one brother, Vernon (Iola “Toby”) Kern; stepdaughter, Carol (Mike) Lingnofski; stepson, Jeff Conn; stepson-in-law, Jerry Lorge; and a stepson-in-law, Bob Ruckdashel.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 12th from 1:00 – 4:00 PM with a brief prayer service at 3:00 PM at the Matteson Town Hall, N10891 Jepson Rd., Clintonville. Please come to share in fellowship, light refreshments, and cherished memories of Stan.
