Cartoonist presents ‘Anime Your Way’

Manawa library to host free drawing program for teens

Sturm Memorial Library’s teen program series will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, with a visit from cartoonist Carlos Nieto III.

Nieto

He will be at the library to present “Anime Your Way.” The free drawing program is for students in grades 7-12.

Nieto will have materials for use available, but artists are free to bring their own supplies if they have favorites they want to use.

The program will last for 1 1/4 hours and treats will be served.

Anime and Manga are popular with teenagers across the country.

Nieto is mostly self-taught. His natural-born talent led to artistic positions with “The Simpsons” and “King of the Hill” and he also worked as a consultant for Disney and Universal, creating sketches and art for set design.

Nieto has been traveling the country doing comic book making, animation and Anime workshops at libraries.

Sturm Memorial Library is collaborating with three other libraries in OWLSnet to bring Nieto to the area.

Contact the Library at 920-596-2252 or visit the library’s website, www.manawalibrary.org, for more information. A schedule of events can also be found on Facebook under Sturm Memorial Library.
