Stotts, Otherwise coming to Manawa

Sturm Memorial Library in Manawa will host two upcoming concerts for children.

Stuart Stotts will perform at the library at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 21, while Duke Otherwise will be at the Manawa Area Veterans Freedom Park at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 26.

Stotts, from Madison, is a well-known singer/songwriter/educator and has been performing for libraries and schools for decades. A frequent collaborator with local celebrity Tom Pease, Stotts’ performance will have kids moving, shaking and singing along.

With his guitar, tap shoes and distinct baritone, Otherwise performs a hilarious, charming and interactive musical program for all ages.

Also from Madison, his original songs are bursting with clever wordplay and fun ideas relatable to kids and adults. He has written more than 75 silly songs and has two albums, “Creepy Crawly Love” from 2012 and “Beehives and Bedheads” from 2015.

Otherwise plays more than 150 shows a year at libraries, schools, festivals, theaters, churches, homes and fairs, mostly in the Midwest. His biggest shows have been at the Lincoln Center in New York City and World Cafe Live in Philadelphia.

Picnic table seating will be available for this event, but everyone is welcome to bring a lawn chair for more comfortable seating.

Both shows are free and open to all ages. Children 7 and under must be accompanied by a responsible party.

The library is able to provide both of these performances with grants from the Outagamie Waupaca Library System.
